Everyone asks on the C.KHiD Youtube the same questions about my afro hair. After growing it since late 2008, it's gotten long and looks good because my hair is well managed. At times laze sets in but making sure you do not get too lazy is very important. However, it is not hard to grow a long head of afro hair over a years if you do a few things.

Not documenting my afro hair in long detail, pictures were taken and videos recorded as well. Showing the process over time was important. My afro was cut a few times in the process and a lot of experimenting was done as well.

It is important for every reader to understand a few things before reading the tips and hair care experiences. One of those main issues is to keep the thought that every afro is different in your mind. Some of you may have the same afro hair as mine while others might be thinner, thicker, more coarse, or less coarse.

Below find a list of topics I have put togethor related to afro hair that should help everyone through the growing process. Some haircare experts and all that may disagree but I am only giving you my life experiences. This was not taught by a book or studies, just live everyday living experiences.

If you dont wish to read it all and want a summary overview, then use these tips below and it should at least keep your hair growing and manageable:
  1. Make adjustments as needed
  2. Keep Hair Well Moisturized
  3. Natural is better; Try to see if natural oils work for you first
  4. Get your afro hair tips trimmed at least once per half-year minimum.
  5. Protect Your Hair At Night; Wear a silk or nylon cap.
  6. Do not overwash or blow dry too much

Be blessed my people out there trying to work the afro hair style. It takes some work to keep it up but in the long run you definitely get the attention. Too bad most girls out here do not know how to deal with it anymore though. Days of chilling on the steps getting the hair braided are gone, so be prepared to spend money on washing, shampooing, and hair styles on the regular.
