Travis Porter, often mistaken to be one person, is actually the name of one of the hottest new rap groups on the
hip hop scene right now. Independent group, Travis Porter, is made up of three rappers named Quez, Strap, and Ali.
In only a year’s time this group has achieved things that many artists will not achieve in a lifetime. In that
short time, their YouTube channel has received over 20 million views and they have a hit song on the Billboard charts.
Their music video has also been getting air time on MTV.
Travis Porter debuted with their first song entitled, “Baddest B-tch”. Their music was instantly recognized for a
sing-song sound and playfulness. Their second hit song was, “Black Boy White Boy” and with this they began to draw
the attention of other ATL based rappers included Young Dro. “Who is Travis Porter?” was the name of their mixtape
and from that came several popular songs as well as one of their most well known hits, “Turnt Up”. With the success
of Travis Porter in the last year they have gone on to release a second mixtape called, “I’m a Differenter” and
they have also collaborated with Waka Flocka Flame.
Nineteen year old Travis Porter stars have been making moves in hip hop lately. The group began with step-brothers,
Quez and Ali, along with their friend Strap. They all started hanging out and rapping together just for fun.
They went from just having fun to getting down to business with recent endeavors such as becoming a trending
topic on the newest social networking craze, Twitter.com. They were also named to be the eleventh most searched on
Google.com after releasing, “Proud 2 Be a Problem.”
How did three teenage friends make it so big in the music industry so quickly? They were discovered on by their
profiled on MySpace and now record labels are in a bidding war over Travis Porter. The group is also working
on several upcoming projects. They are also planning to work with influential people like DJ Smallz and
DJ Spinz in order to increase their fan base and awareness.
