Jae Millz Biography
Rapper Jae Millz was born in Harlem, Manhattan, New York. He remembers being musically inspired early on by his mother’s large collection. He attended New York’s High School of Art and Design and in 1997 he began polishing his lyrical skills in lunchroom battles with fellow students. At age 15 his rap skills were noticed by Keisha Morris who was the wife of legendary rapper Tupac Shakur at the time. She noticed Jae Millz as he joined in on a battle outside of a basketball game.

Keisha Morris introduced Jae Millz to the CEOs of Wanna Blow Entertainment, Nige and Tone. From this point on Jae Millz was able to learn the ropes of the rap game and observe some of the biggest names in the business such as Diddy, Lil Kim, Mase, and Mysonne. All of these artists made a big impression on the upcoming rapper.

Jae Millz has earned his place as an underground legend through various freestyle battles, mixtapes, and appearances on the Smack DVD over the years. In 2003 he appeared on season 2 of MTV’s reality show “Making the Band” and battled against E. Ness from “Da Band”. The freestyle battle lasted nearly an hour but the majority of it was not aired on MTV. Jae Millz eventually signed a recording deal with Wanna Blow Ent.

Jae Millz had a lot of hype surrounding him in 2003 and he and Wanna Blow Ent. made a deal with Warner Bros. Records for Millz to release a single. His first single was “Rude Boy Get Up (No, No, No) and the music video for the song was filmed in Jamaica. However, the deal with Warner Bros. did not prove to be successful as they failed to deliver an album for Jae Millz. After leaving Warner Bros. Jae Millz and Wanna Blow Ent. made a deal with SRC Records and Universal Records.

With SRC and Universal on board Jae Millz began to prepare for his debut album. He released singles such as “Streetz Melting,” “Bring It Back,” and “My Swag” but no music videos were released. Jae Millz hoped to release an album by June of 2008 and left SRC. He also began working on a second album called Harlem Nightz.

In 2008 Jae Millz was signed to Young Money Ent. Currently he is working on a new album called Nothing is Promised that will be released in 2011. Jae Millz has also been busy releasing free mixtapes each month for his fans to download online.
