Bow Wow Biography
Previously known as Lil’ Bow Wow, the young rapper made his appearance on the rap scene at only 13 years old. Bow Wow debuted with his first album in 2000 called Beware of Dog and this became a top ten double-platinum hit. After such high success upon his debut, Bow Wow persevered through the years to release various albums that varied with success.

Bow Wow also found a spot in Hollywood after his acting debut in the hit movie Like Mike in 2002. Bow Wow also recorded a sound track for the movie Like Mike and began to find roles in movies more and more. He starred in The Johnson’s Family Vacation in 2004, Roll Bounce in 2005, and The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift in 2006.

Bow Wow was born on March 9, 1987 and his real name is Shad Gregory Moss. His hometown is Columbus Ohio and he gained his nickname Lil’ Bow Wow through his relationship with Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg of Death Row Records. Later Bow Wow teamed up with Jermaine Dupri and the So So Def label and found more success with this relationship. Jermaine helped Bow Wow find success as a young rapper just as he had with others such as Kriss Kross and Da Brat.

Bow Wow’s first single was called Bounce With Me and was featured on the soundtrack for the popular movie, “Big Mama’s House”. His first single became a top twenty hit in the United States as well as the United Kingdom. Beware of Dog sold over 2.5 million copies. The second album released by Bow Wow was called Doggy Bag. In 2002 Doggy Bag was another top selling success. The album went platinum with two hot singles including “Thank You” and “Take You Home”. However, in 2003 Bow Wow left So So Def and released his third album with Columbia Records.

Bow Wow’s third album was called “Unleashed” and did not do as well as was expected. The album peaked on the Billboard Chart but later sold less than a million copies. However the album did produce a few big hits. The following albums for Bow Wow have not topped his early success. His most recent album was his fifth which produced hits like “Outta My System” and he did a collaborative album called Face Off with Omarion in 2007. Bow Wow’s latest movie was called Lottery Ticket.
