It's important that major Hip-Hop and Pop record labels no longer control the media. Artists
from Marvin Gaye to 2Pac lost their lives shortly after speaking on political topics ( as mentioned in new
Saigon song ). Therefore it's important social media like YouTube exists to help the
people remain linked and artists discuss powerful social topics. Rapper Jasiri X gives
the Hip-Hop 2012 era a clear demonstration why with his new tune.
Jasiri X's new Hip-Hop song, 'Don't Forget About the Hood', reminds us of responsibilities
due to the hood's chosen leaders. The Puerto Rican Hip-Hop artist, bombs on
social divides and injustices in the hot new song, while director Emmai Alaquiva places
soul-sticking visuals to relay the message.
"Doing nothing ain't an option / Do something get it popping / Real action over talking /
The whole world is watching" raps Jasiri X, ending his first verse.
And get it popping the new Hip-Hop artist and the 'HoodieVote.org' collaborators have done.
Addressing direct topics in the message as well, Jasiri X reminds the lower class communities
they have a voice. The virally buzzing rapper reminds America George Zimmerman is still a free
man after murdering Trayvon Martin.
