Rihanna (@Rihanna) Honored For 100 Million Songs Sold + Video Of 15 Year Old Ri′Ri
Rihanna is the monster of today's generation when it comes to billboard charts. She smashes records of selling previous & new songs. She's even tied or surpassed some of the legends of yesteryears. Def Jam celebrated one of the Pop star's many accomplishments, honoring her for selling over 100 million records. The "Talk That Talk" singer was allegedly surprised with a plaque from Def Jam while at her Manhattan Hotel Friday night. The celebatory plaque, showcases the 6 Rihanna albums, the world has purchased music from in excess of 100 million times. A very low percentage of artists from today's generation of music have reached such heights. Few artists in general, any-time, have sold such totals. Rihanna's albums have sold more than 25 million globally. The additional 75 million record sales are fueled by an incredible streak of hit singles. The Barbados born talent's 11 singles that topped Billboard Hot 100 songs charts, helped her generate an additional 60 million sales. Rihanna was photographed by Paparazzi outside her Manhattan hotel holding the plaque (pictured below). It was given to her in celebration of new music video "Diamonds," according to BET.com. Rihanna was wearing an oversized sheepskin coat, maroon in color, when spotted with the nearly 3.5 foot plaque. Her hair looked incredibly rich and like her Roc Nation boss, was rocking what looks to be Timberland boots. The Barbadian superstar has no time to recline however. Rihanna is already onto her next venture, embarking on a promotional campaign for her next album, Unapologetic. Beginning in 2013, Rihanna will be kicking off a new tour. The "Diamonds tour" begins March 8, 2013 at the Niagara Center in Buffalo, New York. She recently announced A$AP Rocky would be on the tour. Being close to Toronto, fans are on edge wondering if Drake will appear at the show as well. If at all possible, it's not been hinted to nor confirmed yet.
