Los Angeles by way of Atlanta-Georgia Rapper Soulja Boy is closing out the Hip Hop 2012 year with
new music. On his Loaded Lux, the platinum rap artist is making sure fans 'get this work,'
experimenting with new sounds. Friday, Soulja Boy launched new music video 'Life is Good' and
it seems the 22 year old is growing creatively.
"shouts out to jay-z ... / cause I got dreams of riding through in 8 Deep / HD with that
maybach take it all apart / if you see the yacht on the yard / then you know I'm Hard" sings
Soulja Boy on the new rap freestyle.
A very abstract single lyrically, it appears Soulja Boy is working on his skills within the elements of
Hip-Hop. Freestyle rapping throughout the song, his versatility in the rhyming pattern
lacks at parts but there is a new poetic style used. Soulja Boy fuses a style of discussing
current lifestyle and what's going on around him to paint a picture.
Beyond those efforts, the southern rapper made it through the entire freestyle with
little redundancy of cursing and the word 'nigga'. A sign of good vocabulary and intelligence to
most experts, the lyrical content of this freestyle leads one to think Soulja Boy's holding back
from rapping how he wants. Perhaps the BLVD supply clothing boss is boxed in by his perceived
target market?
Either way, check the new music video below. Discuss with everyone what you think of
