Alien Planet Found Closer to Earth. LavaMen Exist in Space?
Space Scientists are always looking through their telescopes to find new star systems, moving matter, and planets. The most exciting thing for them to discover perhaps, the potential of Alien life. This week astronomers found a new planet, that's probably not inhabited, but further proves we don't know what planets are in space. The alien planet found is near the sun-like star, Alpha Centauri B. Part of the three-star system, it's estimated to be 4.3 light years away from earth. It's not likely anyone in our lifetime would reach it. The new 'world' discovery, is believed to be about the size of earth. However, astronomers believe the surface to be heat-blasted. This means the un-named planet is possibly covered with molten rock. For movie-buffs, this should sound thrilling. The initial description should remind people of the hit film, 'Red Planet'. Lava Men could possibly be there, but probably not. The excitement of the Alpha Centauri Bb discovery, is immense for astronomers. This find suggests that even more alien planets may be in our cosmos, revolving the stars. "Most of the low-mass planets are in systems of two, three to six or seven planets, out to the habitable zone," said Stephane Udry of the Geneva Observatory to journalists Tuesday. So the discovery "opens really good prospects for detecting planets in the habitable zone in a system that is very close to us," Udry added. "In that sense, this system is a landmark." Xavier Dumusque of Geneva Observatory and the University of Porto in Portugal led the research team that discovered the planet Alpha Centauri Bb. The planet was discovered by astronomers using the High Accuracy Radial velocity Planet Searcher aka HARPS. The space-discovery equipment allowed scientists to detect tiny gravitational 'wobbles' that orbital planets induce in their parent star(s). The discovery of Alpha Centauri Bb is not believed wholly accurate by some according to MSNBC.com. However, most space object which we discover through high-tech equipment are not actually realized in human realms.
