Spending habits of the poor, average, and rich have been put into the all-powerful
statistics. Whether one wants to admit it or not, when relatively small groups of people
(compared to populations) are tested, it's likely the averages will apply to all.
NPR researched and shared the "Bureau of Labor Statistics", and the results are
soul-inspiring.
According to stats, the lower class of America earning between $15,000 and $19,999 has
many different placements of importance compared to middle and rich, upper class citizens.
The lower class candidates spend more of earnings on food for eating at home, housing,
utilities, and nearly double the % of money earned working on health care & insurance that
the wealthy do.
The largest disparities of how money earned is spent between lower class and the 'rich' is
education and retirement. The less affluent spend an average of about 1.5% of earnings on education, while
those earning over $150,000 invest about 4.4% of earnings into learnings.
For retirement, the rich put away 15.9% of their money to live good after their career fades.
The lower class, put away a mere 2.6% of earnings to live beyond their job/career.
The middle class, is the middle for a reason. Few spending categories showed a large
difference between America's once known 'factory workers' and the poor or rich.
Transportation and gasoline, the only category the middle class spends a higher percentage
of earnings on than the rich and poor. All other categories, they fall in the middle.
