Rapper Drake, arguably the most talented artist on the rap-dominating
Young Money Cash Money Record label, has sold millions of records. Since the success, his
rap lyrics have become charged with taunts of his accomplishments compared to older predecessors.
However, chinks in the armor may be in light as GOOD Music rapper Pusha T's rap lyrics
on "Exodus 23:1", a diss track, are being confirmed true.
"Contract all fu*ked up // I guess that Means You All F*cked Up // You signed to one nigga, that's
signed to another niggga, thats signed 2 three niggas, now that's bad luck" rapped Pusha T
in alleged Lil Wayne diss record, Exodus 23:1.
Soon after the rumored shot was taken, Lil Wayne answered for Drake, like a big brother.
He released a Pusha-T diss record called 'ghoulish' that aired on New York radio's Hot 97.
The 'fantasy' diss record, as many fans tweeted, was possibly one of the top 10 most disliked
rap diss songs of all-time.
"Pusha T's lyrics were more staggering because you felt the realness. Lil Wayne was just yelling a
bunch of metaphores and nobody took him serious", messaged Dahryl Pharoah,
editor behind New Hop Songs tumblr
blog, comparing the two songs.
Indeed, the Pusha T lyrics seem to have validity. Texas rap impresario and son of a rap icon,
Jas Prince, who discovered Drake is speaking out. Not only talking, he's also brought his
attorney's into the situation, persuing money owed for bringing Drake to
to YMCMB.
"The music exec who discovered Drake says that the rap star's management company has
cheating him out of big bucks — and that Drake is being ripped off to the tune of millions
as well. In papers filed in Manhattan Supreme Court, James 'Jas' Prince says that
he discovered Drake on MySpace back in 2007 and introduced him to Lil Wayne and the
bad-boy rapper's managers -- only to get cut out of the deal", reports the New York Post.
For the introduction, J Prince was to be given a percentage of Toronto-rapper's earnings.
Though almost 4 years, multiple platinum albums, gold and platinum singles, and
world touring are under Drake's belt, Jas has recieved not even one cent.
To make matters worse, Prince has investigated earning and discovered Drake's being
scammed out of millions. The bolsterous rapper who allegedly purchased a Hidden Valley, California
mansion recently, has not been paid for any of his hit rap/pop songs.
"He hasn't been paid, and we haven't been paid," said Prince's lawyer, James McMillan.
According to VladTV.com,
as other legal issues with Cash-Money/YMCMB in the past, no one is speaking
from their camp. The companies management representatives, Aspire Music Group, Laurant Management,
nor Three Kings will respond to the issue. Drake's rep would not comment on matters either.
A relatively new record label, compared to others of its roster size,
hopefully the Young Money Cash Money Billionaires are working out kinks in business structure.
This legal issue adds to a list of forgotten bills. These Cash Money, Young Money Lawsuits
include some of Hip Hop's favorite talents. Juvenile, recently incarcerated rapper BG, Mannie Fresh, producer David Kirkwood, Lolli-pop
instrumental maker Darius 'Deezle' Harrison, Bangladesh, & even EMI records have all
sued Cash Money and his sub-labels.
