New Hip Hop songs of 2012 may be "new music" but some artists are finding inspiration from the
past. Rapper C.KHiD recently launched viral YouTube music video "Do The Hustle" and admitted
quickly, his love for past Hip Hop. South Carolina's most watched rap artist even went as far
to say that Jay-Z and Pharrell Williams completely inspired the hook to his new song "Do The Hustle."
"The chorus for Do The Hustle, the way it sounds was inspired by Jay-Z and Pharrell Williams"
messaged C.KHiD to us, about the viral new song. "The way Jay-Z stressed the line "I Wish I Never Met her
at All" and Pharrell twanged the chorus, made me change the way I crafted this single."
C.KHiD is referring to the hit Jay-Z song "I Just Wanna Love You" aired in 2000. Featuring
Pharrell Williams on the chorus, the two put together one of the biggest hits of the year with
the song. It is one of the rare times you get to hear Jay-Z attempting to sing as well.
"I don't copy anyone's style but I have a hunger to want to learn from the best. Watching what
they do and adding my touch to it." continued C.KHiD.
"Do The Hustle" is one of the latest rap songs from C.KHiD album "Black Box Dreams 6" on iTunes.
The official music video for the song was debuted on YouTube this week and Hip Hop blogs have
begun picking it up.
