Maroon 5 is not a new name to any music genre by far. Since their song "Moves Like Jagger" hit
the mainstream, it was hard for anyone not to get hooked by their infectious chorus. A
rock band with some of the YouTube world's most viewed videos, the 2012 Rock music giants hooked
up with Wiz Khalifa for new song "Payphone" and the video has debuted today.
A daring move to feature a rap artist, this and other new Maroon 5 songs may do something new
for the rock genre. As rappers like Lil Wayne and Wiz Khalifa cross over into other genres,
perhaps the red-hot rock music group will do the undone. Perhaps Maroon 5 will push Rock into
the rap music genre.
In the new "Payphone" music video, Maroon 5 front-man Adam Levine puts on his actor mask.
Playing the role of a banker, he gets robbed while working. Not a victim however, he instead
transforms into a hero, pushing over one of the wannabe bank robbers and snatches up a female co-worker
he's admired to whisk away to safety.
After running away to safety in the new Maroon 5 music video, Levine gets chased by the police.
Obviously a case of mistaken identity, he steals a valet parked luxury sports car which he uses to
run from the cops in. Continuing on a high speed chase for several minutes, cars end up flipping,
explosions and more before ending in a place where Wiz Khalifa is standing around.
This is one of the new Maroon 5 songs 2012 released to promote the upcoming
Overexposed album. The record is due out on June 25, 2012 and will
be available on iTunes.
