The famous neon signs
that compose the London's worldly known Piccadilly Circus lights, is about to change. Korean
car manufacturer Hyundai, has signed a deal with the bright lights owner, Land Securities, to
permanently replace Sanyo's ad. As the relatively new car era rolls in for the automotive brand,
the move will put them on London's mind.
"Hyundai getting placement on top of the Piccadilly Circus lights says a lot about their growth.
I think I am going to look into their stock just to see how well things are going with their new
car branding and marketing strategies," says young US business entrepreneur Rodrick Rainey.
Hyundai is said to be paying between 1 Million and 5 Million Euro for less than 5 years of having
their LED sign up. Not exactly the typical
neon open signs, but
this billboard will let everyone know Hyundai is up to new business.
Replacing Sanyo, the Piccadilly Circus lights announced in February it would be adding a
new advertiser to the landmark sign. Eliminating Neon lights for LED signs, Landmark Securities
plans to increase the advertiser's capabilities with detailed graphics.
The last time a new brand was added to Piccadilly Circus Lights was in 1994. Samsung took over
the neon sign held by Panasonic.
