Rap Group Beastie Boys Landed On Top of New Hip Hop Songs Charts

For the first time in seven years, The Beastie Boys are on top of the hip hop world. After the release of their sequel new album, Hot Sauce Committee II, which sold 128,000 albums in week one, the hip hop trio stands in second behind Adele for the week's top-selling albums, and first on hip hop album charts.
Hot Sauce II is the Boys' first album released since The Mix-Up in 2007, and is their first album since Check Your Head, released in 2004, to settle in Billboard's top-10 in its debut week.
The New York hip hop group consisting of Mike D, MCA, and Ad-Rock, is used to first-week success on album charts. In fact, Hot Sauce II is their first studio set to not debut at number one. Hot Sauce II is the Beasties' sixth album to chart on Billboards' weekly top-10 selling albums.
The Beastie Boys ruled New York in the late 80's and 90's with their early album success from License to Ill, Paul's Boutique and Check Your Head, Ill Communication, and Hello Nasty. After To the 5 Boroughs, the group's 2004 album, which was criticized by some fans as being too proper for the typical Beastie Boys' sound, the hip hop trio used Hot Sauce II as a throwback album to their early triumphs.
In the trio's new hit album the group brings back their electro-punk hip hop sounds used in their early albums when they rapped about partying and mischief. Hot Sauce Committee II will claim the Beasties' rule of New York and hip hop once again
