Hip Hop Interview With Rapper Mysonne
Hip Hop Interview With Rapper Mysonne

04 / 21 / 2010

Thanks to DJ Vlad and the VladTV crew shooting an e-mail, C.KHiD got the chance to run an interview with Hip Hop artist Mysonne. Coming off the buzz of his latest single "Hmmm" he has a lot to say. From the thoughts on TI's drop tips crimestopper commercial to why he was locked up for 7 years for a crime he did not commit. It's deeper than the music.

Hip Hop Interview Question:
What's your real name and where you from?

Mysonne Interview Question:
My real name is Mysonne. My mother named me that.

I'm from the bronx ny, born and raised

Hip Hop Interview Question:
You're from what, the Castle Hill area ?

Mysonne Interview Question:
I'm grew up in the Castle Hill area but I'm from the High Bridge area. I was raised by my grandmother who lived in Castle Hill area, so i was back and fourth between Castle Hill and Highland

So both of those areas raised me

Hip Hop Interview Question:
What about right now Mysonne? You still living in New York?

Mysonne Interview Question:
Yeah I still live in The Bronx

Hip Hop Interview Question:
Ok, hopping into the music, how does it feeling coming off the success of your latest single "Make em say Hmmm."

Mysonne Interview Question:
You know, it feels good. It's re-establishing a brand and name, so to come back with a single that the label and the people is fuckin with; the radio is playing and the internet is showing love to , you know, is great. The internet is the biggest thing now and it showed me a lot of love. So you know I'm feeling good.

Hip Hop Interview Question:
yeah i agree man, the internet is def the biggest thing today, no doubt. As far as your character and persona in Hip Hop, i don't feel enough people give you credit for having some spine and backbone in keeipng your integrity. How important is that to you as an artist (to keep your respect)?

Mysonne Interview Question:
Yeah, that's the most important thing to me you know. When the music is gone and the fame's gone, the only things left behind are what you established as a man, the things you accomplished, and how you carried yourself. Those things are very important to me. You know, i dont monetarily need somebody to respect me.

No matter how much money you have there are rich people who can not touch what Martin Luthter King has done; what malcom x has done. I feel like if you dont stand for something you will fall for anything. So that's why a lot of times, that's why i might be the one to speak against something the way a lot of people feel but don't want to say it. Then some people might not agree with me.

I feel at the end of the day that its wrong to my morals and principles that i follow, then i dont have a problem speaking against it. And with a lot of cowards it causes friction because people don't like to be called out and it casues friction.

Hip Hop Interview Question:
Okay, now you've definitely spoken on some things before but can we get into the old statement on TI you made?

Mysonne Interview Question:
I dont have any problem. Anything i said i back it 100 percent.
