The Live Mechanics clothing line was inspired by a combination of music and the streets. Live mechanics expresses
the reality of the streets through art and music and shows an appreciation for the challenges of life. The
Live Mechanics brand was founded by Osa Odiese in 2000 with printed tees and sweatshirts and by building
strong roots in its California home base. Since then they have taken their graphics to a new level and reached
a full scale line. In February of 2002 Live Mechanics Osa Odiese stated that the line was doing very well
and now today the brand is a leader in the streetwear market. The Brand is now found in hot retail locations
such as Le Shop in Paris, Mash in London, Yukon in Munich, Stackhouse in New York, Fred Segal in Los Angeles,
Untitled in Chicago, and True in San Francisco.
In the last two years there has been an evident change in direction for the streetwear line. Retailers are now
looking for products with a more mature and edgy appeal, therefore Live Mechanics has capitalized on this
opportunity. Live Mechanics clothing continues to incorporate world culture, music, art, and political landscape into
hip hop clothing. This line appeals to people of all walks of life.
The Live Mechanics clothing company has what they call the Triple P Philosophy which consists of Passion, Pain, and
Progress. This philosophy states that there can be no legacy created, no forward movement, or self realization
without a genuine expression of passion for what we wish to accomplish in life. One must also have the strength
to overcome the pain and disappointment we experience in life. Last is the ability to recognize progress and to
build a better day with the wisdom you have gained from the passion and struggle you began with.
