Dowtown San Jose, Costa Rica
Downtown San Jose is a place I could live outside of happily without hesitation. The humble, yet
friendly culturing Costa Rica promotes in its society is amazing. One of the only things I hated seeing while there
was how rich people are coming there and flaunting material goods that can change a society in time.
I walked for hours each day in Costa Rica, just getting lost. The streets are just like New York City, straight lines that
are easy to navigate. A lot of parks are inside the downtown to promote social gatherings along your walks. Good
food and entertainment were towards the center of the dowtown San Jose area, ending with the meet of San Pedro.
You can see some of the historical buildings in the photos above. A lot of big business influence is coming to Costa Rica
but I hope they limit it. It's interesting to see that the "Nova Scotia" bank has one of the highest rising buildings
downtown, almost as if making a statement of ownership to the beautiful country's capital city.
Interestingly enoguh, on my last day there, protesting of a credit system was going on in front of one the banking
buildings as well, which was good to see. People are allowed expression and Costa Ricans are not selling the beautiful
culture and country for the dollar.
One photo shows a great shot of Avenida Central or Central Avenue, whichver you choose. It's an amazingly long strip,
kind of like Broadway in NYC, where all the traffic meshes and people are hustling about.
One great reason I love Costa Rica is because I feel at home. Growing up all I knew was family and a mix of looks throughout
my family. Nobody looked at you a funny way for being different. The merginging of so many cultures is what made Costa
Rica and the Ticos seem to be very understanding and accepting of all. Viva La Pura Vida!
